Relevant Dates:

Early Bird Application Deadline: February 28, 2010

Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. We have a maximum enrollment of 30 students for the upcoming 2010 session. This year we are offering an early bird application deadline. Those who apply by this deadline will be given an admissions decision right away and a strong advantage over other applicants. If you are a student from a country which requires a visa to enter Switzerland, you are strongly encouraged to apply by this deadline so that we may initiate the visa application process as soon as possible.

Regular Application Deadline: May 31, 2010

After the early bird deadline has passed, all other applications will be considered together. Admissions decisions will then be issued after May 31. Once a student is accepted, he or she must confirm enrollment by July 1, 2010. Total tuition and housing fees must be paid in full by July 19, 2010. If you are a student from abroad, you will have the opportunity to pay tuition and housing fees upon arrival, but the fees must be paid within one week of the start of the program.

Class Dates: July 19, 2010 - July 28 2010

Principal coursework will be conducted during this time, as well as preparatory phases for the moot court. During this time we will also offer guest lectures and planned social activities.

Reading Dates and Exam: July 29 AND July 30, 2010

The four classes chosen by the student will be combined into one 2-hour exam, with a 30-minute portion for each class.

Geneva Excursion: Aug. 2, 2010 - Aug. 3, 2010

This is the beginning of the “capstone week” in which students will fully immerse themselves in preparing for the oral argument and competition phase of the moot court. During the Geneva trip, students will also participate in several tours and seminars with human rights organizations.

Moot Court Competition: Aug. 5, 2010 - Aug. 6, 2010
The culmination of the moot court will be the oral round phase. Students will argue their case in front of a panel of scholars and experts in the field and if successful, will move onto further rounds. A winner will be chosen and a prize awarded.

Closing Reception: Aug. 6, 2010
Students and faculty will be invited to a closing reception to mark the end of the program.
